Support Calvert On The Run at Jingle Bell Run/Walk in Solomons Island

Our Running Club is off to a great start, with over 100 participants and 1 runner achieving their marathon already! We are encouraging Club participants to support the Arthritis Foundation by participating in or contributing to the Jingle Bell Run/Walk in Solomons Island on Saturday, December 4, 2010! Save the Date for Our Holiday Festival

Join us on Friday, December 3 from 6-8:30pm for Spaghetti Dinner with Santa, as well as a Holiday Gift Shop for children and their parents! Look for information in Wednesday Folders!

October 2010 Volunteer of the Month

Lisa Kelley has gone above and beyond, coordinating the Second Grade Camp Out, organizing Volunteers, and assisting with numerous PTA events! We appreciate her consistent dedication and assistance!

September 2010 Volunteer of the Month

A huge thank you to Cheryl Chew for her assistance in the Copy Room at Calvert Elementary School! Ms. Chew worked tirelessly as the room was reorganized. Her efforts continue to be appreciated as we also celebrate a fresh coat of paint, the addition of a copier, the removal of shelves to accommodate work space, and a new schedule!

April Volunteer of the Month

We would like to thank Terese Wells for her dedication and service to Calvert Elementary School! Terese has logged in many volunteer hours at our school, for numerous teachers, over the course of many years! All of this, even though her children are now Honor Roll students at Calvert High School! We truly appreciate Terese Wells for her caring and generous nature! Our volunteers are the heartbeat of our school!

Staff vs. Students Basketball

Enjoy a fun evening with the family all while supporting our Staff, Students, and PTA! Join in laughs and cheers as you watch our fifth grade students take on a variety of staff members at Huntingtown High School on Thursday, March 4 from 7pm to 8:30pm! Advance Tickets can be purchased for $5/person! Concessions will be available the night of the event!

Donuts for Dads

Calling all DADS to join your child(ren) for donuts and coffee in the CES Eagle Eatery (Cafeteria) on Thursday, February 25th from 7:45am to 8:30am!

March Volunteer of the Month

Congratulations and thank you to Janet Ulmschneider for her constant, invaluable service at Calvert Elementary. From classroom assistance to girl scouts, from flock parties to special events, Janet has always been ready and willing to make a difference! Our sincere appreciation to our wonderful volunteers!

February Volunteer of the Month

We are recognizing Aunt Cheryl and Peanut Chew for their outstanding efforts at CES. These sisters work as a team to assist every homeroom and resource teacher! Whether in the copy room, the Volunteer Trailer, or at home, these women are working constantly to keep things running smoothly. Thank you to our wonderful volunteers - the HEARTBEAT of our CES Family!

January Volunteer of the Month

Our Volunteer of the Month for January has been instrumental to the success of a multitude of PTA events, including the Back to School Picnic, Trunk or Treat, and the Holiday Festival! Additionally, Lori assists in the classroom and at special school events! Thank you so much to Lori and every volunteer that makes CES a great place teachers and students!

December Volunteer of the Month

Congratulations and thank you to our Box Tops and Campbells Coordinator, Leah Rothbaum! As a result of Leah's efforts over the last two years, we have received nearly $5,000 in donations for Box Tops. In addition, our Campbells points have resulted in the acquisition of Playground Equipment for our third, fourth, and fifth grade classrooms.

November Volunteer of the Month

Our November Volunteer of the Month, Christine Corser, managed our Membership Drive, in addition to helping school administrators get the Accelerated Reading program established! As always, we are so grateful to each and every volunteer for everything they do to make Calvert Elementary a wonderful place for our children.

October Volunteer of the Month

We are honoring our entire Book Fair Committee for their service with the Book Fair! As always, the Book Fair requires many volunteers working numerous hours! Thank you to everyone involved!

A huge thank you to Tasha Fox, our Beautification Chair, for mulching, weeding, and planting! Calvert Elementary looked wonderful as the children and teachers returned to school in August!
